419 Day Celebration + Earth Day
Celebrations are better when shared! Join Metroparks in celebrating 419 and Earth Day, by visiting the Globally Rare Oak Openings Region to meet author and illustrator Carter Higgins and enjoy family friendly activities such as the rock climbing wall, atlatls and nature play. Take a tour of the Tree House Village or have a beverage and snack at Heavy Wheelhouse or a local food truck. Consider purchasing a book online prior to the event for getting signed.
Activities start at 5 p.m., before we welcome Carter Higgins at 6 p.m.:
When Carter Higgins was a kid, she always wanted a treehouse. But she didn’t even have a tree in her yard! So she wrote a book called Everything You Need for a Treehouse instead. What do you need for a treehouse? Snacks? Tools? Friends? Come learn with Carter about how building stories is very close to designing your ideal treehouse. Perfect for all dreamers and creative problem solvers!
We look forward to seeing you and your nature enthusiasts on April 19!
