Explore paddling opportunities to learn paddling safety topics, build upon your technique, learn new strokes, and simulate rescue situations in a safe and controlled environment. Each opportunity covers a different topic--choose the right opportunity for you by reading each individual description.

Are you eagerly awaiting warmer weather and the start of the paddling season? If you or a friend capsize your kayak would you know what to do? Metroparks Toledo's certified American Canoe Association instructors will show you the best practices for individual and team rescues in a controlled setting. Taking the Kayak Basics course prior to this course is recommended but not required. All equipment is provided.
All participants and staff must wear masks and abide by proper social distancing guidelines for the duration of the program. Mask breaks are allowed when appropriate. Participants must bring their own mask.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
